'Systemate Numafa turns up speed'
Dutch processing machinery specialists Systemate Numafa today announced the launch of its new high speed bakery cross stacker/destacker - the first system in the world specifically addressing the single (one-on-one) cross-stacking of bakery crates. The first fully commissioned unit will shortly be on show at the International Baking Exhibition in Las Vegas.
System design has benefited from the company's long experience in the sector. The primary objective of the system is combined productivity and reliability. Constructed of stainless steel and high-tech synthetics it is efficient, reliable and fast. After the bakery crates have been washed in the industrial cleaning system, they are transported to the stacker by conveyor belt where the machine works by turn and turn about in double stacks so raising handling speed to 2,000 crates per hour, well above that of competing systems.
The hardware is also visually attractive. "Besides functionality and quality we also spent attention on looks and safety. We know people work harder in an environment which is clean and nice to look at," explains commercial director Hans Andeweg. "We live in an era in which not only offices are nicely decorated but the production areas too must appeal to staff and contribute to staff well being and operation efficiency." The twin stack operation also improves stack stability. "People working in safe and attractive surroundings on user-friendly equipment are sick less often and record better work satisfaction levels at work," adds Andeweg.
